My wife and I were driving on Parmer Road near the Anderson Mill intersection in Austin, Texas. I had to pull over in traffic to take a couple shots of this beautiful sunset! Hope you got a chance to see it if you live in Austin. Image taken on January 7, 2009.

Maui Sea Cave - Water Level Rising!

I was extremely lucky after taking this pic.

A larger than normal wave barreled into this sea cave when I was firing off bracketed exposures for an hdr image.

After the 3rd exposure, I tried to jump back to avoid the water...but ended up getting wet. My wife and some other touristas found this to be very amusing.

Happy New Years and stay dry in 2009!
Photogs on Waianapanapa Black Sand Beach

Some fellow photogs posing for the camera. Her camera was also a nikon. They were nice enough to take a picture of my wife and I.

This was on of the highlights of our trip to Maui. If you travel the road to Hana, I highly recommend stopping at this park for a couple of hours.

This black sand beach is located of the Hana Highway 360E in Wai'anapanapa State Park. The park features a camping area, sea caves, a natural stone arch, hiking trails and pieces of the first road built around the island, the Old King's Highway.

My wife had her toes painted blue for our wedding on Kauai. I thought there was a nice contrast between her toes and the black sand.

Located on the North shore of Maui, this park is a favorite for surfers on Maui. The wave you see crashing on the rocks was easily over 10 feet tall.
Taken very near the Marriott hotel in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii.

I had to peek over a hedgerow with my camera and use a fisheye lens to get this shot.

The sun was visible like this for less than 1 minute.
